The Open Borders Network Agenda
The Open Borders Network agenda implicitly calls for increasing the political power base of their ethnic constituents. A major objective to increase this power base is to repeat the "one time" amnesty of 1986 for all of the illegal aliens who have evaded capture and are currently residing in the United States (estimates range from 8 million to 30 million illegal aliens).6,8
Although it is crucial that the causes and consequences of mass immigration be openly and honestly discussed, open borders zealots want to shut down the immigration debate.
They know that if the issues of legal immigration and illegal immigration are truly on the table for honest discussion, their special-interest agenda will falter in the light of reality. They have no reasonable arguments that justify unending mass immigration and an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.
So they resort to personal attacks, name calling, guilt by association, ad hominem attacks, and endless race-baiting. They have concluded that the tactics that worked very well during the McCarthy era will work for them now. Never mind the facts.
During the late 1940s to late 1950s, Senator Joseph McCarthy openly accused thousands of Americans of being Communists. Although the vast majority his accusations were unsubstantiated, he succeeded in intimidating a great many of his victims into silence.7
Today, cries of racism constitute the new McCarthyism.
This new McCarthyism is intended to:
- intimidate and silence those who want United States immigration laws enforced and the immigration issue to be honestly discussed, and
- permeate the internet with innuendo and guilt-by-association attacks, so as to fool the uninformed reader and the media into marginalizing the true immigration reform message.
In short: marginalize the messenger.
